With a population of more than 321,600 it is the state’s third largest population centre and is Australia’s ninth largest. It is also one of our fastest growing regions with population projected to increase by around 20% (64,250) by 2031. Naturally this will result in a long term and significant increase in the demand for goods, services and jobs.
Its geographic location lies midway between Sydney and Newcastle, providing immediate access to 4.9 million consumers plus access to international markets via sea and air. On a national scale, it is located halfway between Melbourne and Brisbane.
As well as boasting strong population growth, the Central Coast attracts a large number of tourists every year. It is the nearest holiday destination to Sydney and the area is well established as an all-year tourist experience and it is a major destination for short breaks.
