Mt Penang Parklands, located near Gosford, provides an entrance to the region that demonstrates that the Central Coast is open for business. This gateway to the Central Coast is also conveniently located by the F3 between the two biggest markets in NSW.

Its 152 hectares currently support retail, commerce, education, entertainment, active and passive recreation, Aboriginal and European heritage and residential activities.

The site has significant potential to support redevelopment of the Gosford CBD by providing opportunities for niche and complementary development and business.

Development of Mount Penang is:

  1. Ecologically sustainable
  2. Complementary to its heritage
  3. Character enhancing
Mt Penang is one of 3 key planks in CCRDC’s plans to make the Central Coast the region it deserves to be.

The community support for Mt Penang Parkland’s transformation continues to be endorsed through the use of facilities. 20,000 people play sport and 50,000 people attend the annual Australian Springtime Flora Festival, held in September.

Adaptive reuse of 60 heritage buildings provides a growing employment base for nearly 300 people.

The Central Coast Regional Development Corporation is working with Gosford Council and the Department of Planning and Infrastructure to finalise The Mount Penang State Significant Study which will enable the site and the community to gain further benefit from this important economic and cultural resource.

The CCRDC looks forward to unlocking the gateway that is Mount Penang which is opening opportunities for Gosford and the Central Coast.
